THE TREE OF LIFE

There are many stories about the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, and its fruit. But, what about the Tree of Life, which also was in the Garden of Eden? "The Lord planted a garden eastward in Eden and there He put the man whom He had formed, and out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and goof for food." However there were also two trees in the midst of the garden that did not grow out to the ground: The Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Genesis 2:8-9 The Lord God commanded the man, saying of ever tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat. But of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, thou shalt not eat of it; for in the day that thou eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die; Genesis 2:16.

Did you notice that the man could have eaten freely from the Tree of Life. However, the man chose to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil: he chose to disobey the Lord God. Adam chose evil and death, by eating the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, because, the Lord had set before him Life and Good, Death and Evil; Deuteronomy 30:15.

After their disobedience the Lord said man is become as one of us to know good and evil; and now lest he put forth his hand and take also of the Tree of Life and eat and live for ever. So the Lord drove the man from the garden of Eden and placed Cherubim (Angels) to guard the Tree of Life; Genesis 1:22, 24.

So Adam was denied access to the fruit of the Tree of Life, because he decided to eat the fruit that the woman gave him from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. You cannot eat from the Devil's table, then eat from the Lord's table; 1 Corinthians 10:21. That is the reason that Adam and Eve were driven out from the Garden.

So what is this Tree and it fruit? Let's take a look at the Tree which the Cherubim are guarding; Genesis 3:24. Turn to Psalms 80:1, 99:1. The Lord sits between the Cherubim, that is whom the Cherubim are protecting. So, it is the Lord that is the Tree of Life, which was "in the midst of the Garden.

Let's take a look at the Tabernacle which the Lord told Moses to build; Exodus 25:1-2, 8-9, 17-22. When Moses was given instructions to make the Mercy Seat above the Ark, there were “two Cherubim on each end of the Mercy Seat, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the Mercy Seat shall the faces of the Cherubim be. And shalt put the mercy Seat above upon the Ark; and in the Ark thou shalt put the Testimony that I shall give thee. And there, I will commune with thee from above the Mercy Seat, from between the two Cherubim”. These two Cherubim represent the Cherubim which were placed at the east of the Garden of Eden, Genesis 3:24.

So when Moses would go into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with Him, he heard the voice of one speaking to him from off the Mercy Seat that was upon the Ark of Testimony. From between the two Cherubim, the Lord spoke to Moses; Number 7:8-9.

So, now we know who the Tree of Life was in the Garden of Eden which the Cherubim are guarding; it is the Lord. Some think that the Tree of Life is an actual tree that grew out of the ground. When you read, Revelation 22:2, you would think that this is the Tree of Life that was in the Garden of Eden. But, if you read this verse very carefully, you will see that this tree represents the trees that are in the Son’s, Jesus’ Kingdom; Ezekiel 40:1-2, 43:1-7, 47:7, 12.This tree is good for food and for healing. These trees grew out of the ground with their leaves and their fruit for meat and medicine, “For the healing of the nations.

Now, let’s go back to Genesis 2:9, and take a look at the Tree of Life and its fruit. The man was not allowed to eat from the Tree of Life after he had eaten from the Tree of Knowledge of good and Evil. If he had eaten the fruit of the Tree of Life, he would have lived forever and not seen death.

What is the “fruit” that they ate of and died? It was the words that the Serpent told them, the words are the “fruit of lies”; Hosea 10:13. Adam and Eve trusted in their own way, and not the way of the Lord. If had obeyed the Lord and listened to His words, they would not have died. His word are the Word of Life, Eternal Life; John 6:63-65.

Let’s take a look at one who overcame and ate of the Tree of Life (which was in the midst of the Paradise of God; Revelation 2:7. The Lord always gives examples of what He is doing, let’s focus on Genesis 5:21-24. Enoch walked with God three hundred years and was translated, so that he should not see death, Hebrews 11:5. He talked to the Lord and obeyed His commandments: before his translation, he had this testimony, “He pleased God.” Enoch learned how to live for ever because he ate from the Tree of Life, which is the Lord. By just being around the Lord for three hundred years, Enoch became a Spirit being.

Let’s take a look at Moses who also talked to the Lord and was on the mountain with the Lord for forty days and forty nights, when the Lord showed Moses his “hinder/back” parts, but would not let Moses see His face. Moses was there in the presence of the Lord and his face started to shine. From just being in the presence of the Lord, he was starting to translate. Think about it, after just standing in the Lord’s presence and talking to Him for forty days; Exodus 33:18-23, 34:5-8, 28-29.

When Adam sinned and they were driven out of the Garden, they had no children. Thereby their children also were denied excess to eat of the Tree of Life. The Lord Jesus came to restore that which He took not away; Psalms 69:4. The Kings (Paradise) was prepared for you from the foundation of the world.; Matthew 25:34.
If Adam had not eaten from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, he would have translated in a Spirit being and becomes as God; Psalms 82:6. When God created man, He “created man in His image after His likeness”. However, not after His kind, you see, the Lord is Spirit and man is flesh and blood; Genesis 1:26-27.

So now we know that the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden is the Lord. The “Fruit”, is His Words that he speaks; John 6:63. They are Spirit and they are Life. Do you see that the Tree of Life is the Lord God, and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil is the Satan the Devil?

Many people still, to this day, eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. They go to church on Sunday (1st day of the week), they eat sine’s flesh, and yet say they are “saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost” while keeping none of the Lord’s Sabbaths; Isaiah 65:5-8, 66:17. They worship and serve the “other Jesus”; 2 Corinthians 11:4.

Is this you? Have you been deceived? Remember, “The Devil deceived the whole world; Revelation 12:7-9.

Come join us LIVE this Sabbath and learn about the Tree of Life. The title of the October 9, 2010 Sabbath Lesson is: Jesus the Unknown God; Acts 17:16:23.
