THE GODHEAD -- Continues

Posted by

As we continue reading the scriptures we only read about two that are in the Godhead. We know that one is Jehovah, who is God Almighty, and the other is Jesus. The world has no knowledge of the Godhead, because they do not know which became the Father and which became the Son. Just from reading the scriptures, you know that Jehovah is not the Father. So, what is the Father's name?

We read in John 5;43, that He came in the Father's name. Turn to John 17:1-6, here we see Jesus praying to the Father, asking for the glory that He had with Him--not them--before the world was; telling Him (the Father) that He (Jesus) had revealed His (the Father's) name to His servants. Now what name did Jesus manifest to His servants and disciples? Was it Jehovah?

Read John 17:20-22, Jesus tells us that He and the Father are one; that we must become one, which means that they are in complete agreement. Have you noticed that you still only see two--Father and Son--not three. Read John 17:25-26, Jesus tells the Father that He declared His name (the Father's name) and will declare it. The only name given in the New Testament whereby men might be saved is Jesus. This is the only name that Jesus revealed.

In Acts 4:10-18, Peter tells the High priest that Jesus has become our salvation. Now, we know that, Jehovah became flesh to die for our sins. He could not die if He was in a spirit body, spirits do not die. Turn to Isaiah 57:15, we read where the High and Lofty One whose name is Holy (Jehovah), says he dwells with Him (Jesus) in the High and Holy Place (Heaven). He did not say He "dwells with them", but Him.

Let us examine these two.

In Colossians 3:1, we see Christ sitting on the right hand of God. In Psalms 110:1, we read of the Lord talking to His Lord. How many do you see? Let's continue this journey through the scriptures, to see if we can find the "trinity".

We found two--Jesus and Jehovah, but where is the third one and what is his name? In 1 John 5:7, we read of three that bare record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one. In 1 John 5:10, we read that God gave the record to His Son. Now turn to John 14:26, we read that Jesus will send the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost that will be sent in His (Jesus') name. In John 15:26, we see that the Comforter, (Holy Ghost/Spirit) is also called the Spirit of Truth. In John 16:12-15, we read that the Spirit of Truth shall not speak of Himself, but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: He will show you things to come. He shall glorify the Son (Jesus) for He shall receive it from the Son, who received it from the Father (God).

Turn to Revelation 1:1, we see the three that bear record in heaven. God (the Father), gave record to Jesus (the Son), who gave it to His Angel (the Holy Ghost/Spirit), who came down and gave it to John.

THESE ARE THE THREE THAT BEAR RECORD IN HEAVEN.

Some say that the Holy Ghost is part of the Godhead, but we will let the scriptures tell us who he is; what his name is and what job he does. We know that it is the Holy Spirit, "that bears record in heaven" with the Father and Son, and is in Their presence. Let us see who this Spirit is. Turn to Luke 1:6-19, where we read of an Angel coming to Zacharias and telling him that he would have a son, and to name him John. He also told him that he is "Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and am sent to show thee glad tidings".

Wait a minute, did he say he was sent? Did we not read in John 16:12-25 how the Spirit of Truth was sent? So now we know the Comforter's name. But just in case you still have doubts, let's go to the last book of the Bible.

In Revelation 21:2-3, we see New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven. Skip down to verse :22, we see God and the Lamb. Where is the third one in the Godhead. Let's turn to the last chapter of the last book, Revelation 22:3-6. Here we read about the throne of God and of the Lamb--still just two--And they shall reign forever and ever, "and the Lord God of the Holy Prophets sent His Angel to show His servants things which must shortly be done". This is the same Angel in John 16:12-25.

Now, all you see is two in the Godhead--the Father, whose name is Jesus; Jehovah, who became the Son and was given the name of the Father when He became flesh, and the Holy Spirit whose name is Gabriel, an Angel--the Messenger of God.

THE GODHEAD

I see that many people still believe that there is a Trinity--God, the Father, God, the Son, and God, the Holy Ghost/Spirit, and that there are scriptures that prove it.

Well, let's see if we can find all three or as some say one with three personalities.

Let's start in Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

We read that the Lord "revealed His eternal power and Godhead ", which means more than one. Let's see how many we can find as we read the scriptures. Turn to Proverbs 30:1-4. You read that Agur asked a question, "What is His name and what is His Son's name. He did not ask about three, but two.

Turn to Genesis 1:26-27, we read where God says "Let us..." so this alone tells us there is more than one. But Who is this that is speaking and what is His name? Turn to John 1:18, which tells us that no man has seen God (Father) at any time. Turn to John 5:36-37, we see that it is the Father that we have never seen or heard His voice.

So who is this that is talking in Genesis 2:26-27, and who is it that Moses and the 73 elders saw in Exodus 24:9-11?? Because scripture says that they saw God. How about Moses, he heard and saw God's back parts on Mt. Sinai, Exodus 33:12-23, 34:1-9.

So, if no man has seen or heard the Father at anytime, Who is this God that is talking to Moses?

Turn to Exodus 6:1-3, we see God talking to Moses and telling him that He is God Almighty and that His name is Jehovah. Now, I ask you, how can Jehovah be the Father if no man has seen or heard the Father??

So, Who is Moses talking to that said, I am God Almighty?? He is the only one that we have ever seen or heard. In Genesis 2:7-9, we read that man was formed from the dust of the ground, and man became a living soul. He placed man in the Garden of Eden, and out of the ground the Lord God made every tree to grow. The Tree of Life also was in the garden and the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil. Skip, to Gen 2:16-17, the Lord God commanded the man saying, “of every tree of the Garden thou mayest freely eat. But, of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou many not eat of it: for in the day that you eat of it, you shall surely die”. In Genesis 3:1-11, we read that man ate from the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil and when they heard the voice of the Lord walking in the garden they hid themselves. Wait a minute, they heard whose voice? God’s voice, so now we see that Adam, the first man, heard God’s voice and talked with Him.

Now, after they disobeyed God, (sinned), sentence was passed on them. After this the Lord said, in Genesis 3:22-24, “man is become as one of Us. Who is this Us? Now, lest man eat also of the Tree of Life, and live forever”. So, He drove man out of the Garden and placed Cherubim Angels to guard the Tree of Life, not “guard the garden”. My question is this, “What if man had eaten of the Tree of Life instead of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, where would we be today?

Now, let’s take a look at this tree of Life that the Cherub Angels are guarding. In Psalms 99:1, we read that the Lord sits between the Cherubim. Turn to Psalms 80:1, here we read that the Shepherd of Israel dwells between the Cherubim. So, you see now that the Lord is the Tree of Life. That is Jehovah that sits between the Cherub Angels. Let’s turn to Genesis 17:1-7, we read that the Lord appeared to Abraham and told him that He was God, Almighty and would establish His covenant with him and his seed. Now, we know from reading in Exodus 6:3 that His name is Jehovah and that He appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Now, He is talking to Moses, however, we still only see one God, the Lord, up to this point.

In Exodus 3:1-6, we see an Angel (Holy Spirit), call to Moses out of the bush, and talked to Moses. Exodus 3:4 says it was God, but we know that it was an Angel, Holy Spirit, i.e., Holy Ghost, an Angel, not one of the Godhead. In Exodus 19:1-25, we see that the Lord is coming down on Mt. Sinai to make the same covenant with the children of Israel that He made with their fathers, and told them they would be His Priest. In Exodus 20:1-20, we read that the Lord gave His commandments to all the people and they heard His voice. Now, who is this? It is Jehovah. Up to this point, man has heard the voice of the Lord, and the voice of an Angel, now as we read through the Holy Scriptures; you must now notice that all of the Prophets heard the voice of the Lord.

David spoke of many things in Psalms. In Psalms 132:11-13, we read that the Lord will come through David’s lineage and become flesh and sit on his throne. Now let’s find out how this will be, in Isaiah 12:1-6, we read that the Lord Jehovah is become my salvation, and that He is the Holy One of Israel. Now I ask you, how can Jehovah be our salvation? So far we only see one God speaking. In Psalms 22:22, the Lord said by the mouth of David that He, "will declare His (God’s) name in the midst of the congregation". In Jeremiah 15:16 the Lord said He would be called by the name of the Lord of Host, we know this is not Jeremiah speaking because he was not in contention to the whole Earth, (Jer. 15:10). Did you notice anything in verse 16? There are two spoken of.

In John 5:39-43, we see Jesus telling the Jews that He has come in His Father’s name, and that the scriptures testify of Him. Skip to John 5:46-47, Jesus tells us that Moses wrote of Him, and if you do not believe Moses’ writings, you won’t believe Jesus’ words, either.

Turn to John, because I need to show how Jehovah has become our salvation and when this happened. In John 1:1-3, it tells us that the Word was with God and was God, and all things were made by Him. How many do you see in these scriptures, one, two, or three? We also read in the third verse, that all things were made by Him. Now, Who is the Word, and what is His name? It must be Jehovah, because no one has ever seen the Father or heard His voice. John 1:14 tells us that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

I have another question: What is the name of the Father? Well, let us continue reading God’s Word. Scripture tells us in Hebrew 10:5 that a body was prepared for Him. A body prepared for Whom? It was prepared for Jehovah. In Matthew 1:18-23, we read that the Angel of the Lord appeared unto Joseph telling him that Mary shall have a son and will name Him Jesus. All this was done to fulfill what was written by the Prophet Isaiah, (7:14), that a virgin would have a child and call His name Emmanuel, which being translated means “God is with us”. In Luke 1:26-33, we read that an Angel who was sent from God appeared unto Mary, his name is Gabriel and he tells Mary that she shall have a son and shall call His name Jesus.

Now, this name came from Heaven and was sent by God. Re-read John 1:1-3, for Jesus in the form of God was Jehovah, Almighty, and the Word of God. But, he became flesh, John 1:14, made in the likeness of men, so that He could die for our sins.

God, the Father gave Him a name which is above every name; that name is Jesus. This name is even above Jehovah’s name, because Jehovah humbled Himself and took on the form of a servant.

Let’s turn to Matthew 3:13-16, where Jesus come to John the Baptizer to be baptized. In these few scriptures people try to say you have all three revealed, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Well, let’s take a close look and see what the scriptures say. We read that the Spirit of God in the form of a dove came upon Jesus. Let us look at that Spirit: turn to Isaiah 11:2. We read that the Spirit is the knowledge, wisdom, spirit of counsel and the fear of the Lord. Now, can you see that He is filled with God’s Word, which is “spirit and life”. Turn to John 1:29-34, John tells Israel that Jesus is the Lamb of God and that He who sent Him said unto John “upon whom you see the dove rest on is the one that is the son of God.” Now we know why the dove rested on Jesus , so that John would know who was the Christ. The voice, that was heard from Heaven, in Mat. 3:17, saying “this is My beloved Son”, this could not be the Father’s voice–for no man has ever heard the Father’s voice. So whose voice did they hear? It was an Angel’s voice speaking as though he was God.

In Judges 2:1-4, we see the Angel of the Lord speaking as God. This is because the Angel is speaking in the first person. Can you see that the voice from Heaven was the voice of an Angel? We are not finding a trinity, are we?

Let’s find out who really anointed Jesus. Psalms 25:1-7, tells of a one God anointing another God. Let’s find out who these two Gods are. Did you notice there are two, not one, not three, but two? In Hebrews 1:8-10, we read that one has become the Son, and is anointed by God, the Father. It also tells us in 1:10, that it was the Son that laid the foundations of the earth and the heavens.

Jesus told the Jews, who He was, and they tried to stone him. In Exodus 3:13-15 Moses is asking God, “what shall I say when they ask what is His name?” God said, tell them I AM sent me unto you. This is my name for a memorial to all generations. Now, turn to John 8:52-59, we read where Jesus told them that, “…Abraham rejoiced to see My day”. The Jews told Him Abraham is dead and you are not yet fifty years old. He told them who He was saying, “Before Abraham was I AM". The Jews then tried to stone Him for saying He was I AM. How about you? Do you believe that Jesus was God Jehovah?

Turn to 1 Corinthians 10:1-4, which tells us that Christ was in the wilderness with Moses and the children of Israel. So it was Jesus who gave the Commandments in Exodus 20:1-17. He tells us this in John 14:15. Jesus says, “…if you love me keep My commandments”. He also tells us that the Father’s name is Jesus. Turn to Matthew 28:19, where Jesus tells His disciples to baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost/Spirit.

So, what is the Father’s name??

LET US ALL LIFT HIM UP!

I truly appreciate the title of this Award, it immediately brings to mind the scripture:

John 3:
