ISRAEL, The Woman In Revelation Chapter Twelve

Part Two

Now, let us take a close look at this “Queen of Heaven”, that people say is Mary and let’s see how long she has been around, turn to Jeremiah 7:18.

We see the children of Israel making cakes and pouring out drink offerings to the “Queen of Heaven". This was done in the days of Jeremiah. So you can see that the “Queen of Heaven” has been around even before Mary was born.

They say that Mary is in heaven, but the Scriptures say different. Turn to John 3:13, Jesus said no man has ascended up to Heaven, but He who came down from Heaven. Jesus also told us that where He is we can not come; John 7:33-34; also in John 8:21; John 13:33, that we could not go to where He is.

Now turn back to Revelation 12:6, 13-17; we see that the woman did not go to Heaven but fled into the wilderness for three and a half years. This is because she is the church, the congregation of all the children of Israel; Exodus 16:1. For Moses was in that church that was in the wilderness; Acts 7:38.

This woman that fled into the wilderness is fleeing from Great Tribulation, which has not happened yet so this is prophecy which is speaking of future events. The same events which Daniel spoke of in Daniel 12:1 and that Jesus talked about in Matthew 24:15-22. This woman is the Lord’s Church, also called the twelve tribes of Israel.

This woman that fled into the wilderness, are those that have the knowledge of what to do when the Great Tribulation comes, and those of her seed that are left behind were only lukewarm, at that time; Revelation 12:17. "These are they that keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus", whom the Dragon turns on to make war "on the remnant of her seed".

Let’s continue on about who this woman is. We know from reading Genesis 37:9-10, that this is the family of Israel. Israel gave birth to a Son, who was to rule all nations, with a rod of iron; Revelation 12:5. Even before that happened the Lord said, “My mother’s children were angry with Me”; Song of SongSolomon 1:6, “they made Me the keeper of the vineyards. But My own vineyard have I not kept”. So, here we see the Lord calling His mother a vineyard.

Let’s take a look at this vineyard that is the Lord’s. Turn to Isaiah 5:1-7, we see that the Lord’s vineyard is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah His pleasant plant. We now know who His mother’s children are, they are Israel, also, let us not forget that Jesus is an Israelite.

Turn back to Revelation 12:17, if this woman is Mary who is the remnant of her seed? Let’s take a look at some of this woman’s children, in Isaiah 66:5-8. We read where the woman brought forth not only a man child but a whole nation in one day. This will happen when Jesus returns and gathers the remnant of the woman’s seed out of all nations; Jeremiah 23:2-3, 8 and Jeremiah 29:14.

We can see that the woman is the Church (Israel) and that Jesus is the Head of the Church; Ephesians 5:23. Turn to Luke 1:26-33, we read where Mary is told that she shall have a Son and He would reign over the House of Jacob (Israel), for ever, this is the Church. So, with just a few scriptures I pray that you see that the woman in Revelation 12:1-2, is the Nation of Israel; the congregation of the Lord, and not Mary. The woman in Revelation 12 is also called the Lord’s Bride/Wife.

I ask once again: If this woman in Revelation 12, who christendom says is Mary, (but is the Lord’s Church), who is the woman in Revelation 17:1-6?

Surely someone can tell me this, one of you who says that the woman in Revelation 12 is Mary.

ISRAEL, The Woman in Revelation Chapter Twelve

I have heard, so many times, people make the statement that the woman described in the twelfth chapter of Revelation is Mary, the mother of Jesus. This woman is not Mary. She, however is called Jesus’ mother, she is also called the Lord’s bride (church).

Let’s read Revelation 12:1-2, 5-6; as we read the scriptures, it tells of a woman clothed with the sun, the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars. She being with child cried travailing in birth, and pains to be delivered . After she gave birth, her child was caught up God in to heaven, not the woman.

The woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared of God; she was in the wilderness for 1,260 days (3 ½ years). What I do not understand is how they come up with this being Mary, and her being in heaven and not in the wilderness, which is on the earth.

But before we go any further I have a question. If this is Mary in the twelfth chapter of Revelation, then who is the woman in the seventeenth chapter?

First, let us find out who the woman in Revelation 12 is. For only God’s words can interpret God’s Word; 2Peter 1:19-21.

Turn to Genesis 37; in this chapter we read how Joseph, one of the sons of Jacob who is called Israel, was a dreamer of dreams. He had a dream; Genesis 37:5-8, that his brothers would make obeisance to him, which came true when Joseph became second in command in Egypt; Genesis 42:1-9. Let’s go back to Genesis 37: 9-11, Joseph had another dream in which the sun, the moon, and eleven stars made obeisance to him. When he told the dream to his father and his brothers, his father rebuked him saying, “What is this dream, shall I your Jacob your father (the sun), your mother (the moon), and your brethren (the eleven stars) bow down ourselves to the earth to you?”

Why eleven stars, because Joseph the dreamer, is also the twelfth star. So, now can you see that the woman in Revelation 12 is the nation of Israel/Jacob, whose name was changed; whose twelve sons became the twelve tribes of Israel.

Now we know who this woman is in Revelation chapter twelve—this is not Mary, it is the nation of Israel (the True Church), the congregation of the Lord; Exodus 12:1-3, Acts 7:38.
