The majority of people do not know that the Lord speaks in parables; Psalms 78:1-2, Matthew 13:34-35. Even from the beginning; in the book of Genesis.
When the Lord created man from the dust of the ground and “breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul”, Genesis 2:7, and the Lord commanded the man saying, of every tree in the garden thou mayest freely eat, Genesis 2:16.
However, there were two trees in the garden that did not grow out of the ground, Genesis 2:9; the Tree of Life and the Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil. Now, the Lord is speaking in parables when He is talking about the two trees in the midst of the garden. We must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling; Philippians 2:12.
So we must search the scriptures to find out about the two trees in the midst of the Garden of Eden: the Tree of Life and the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil. It is taught, by many false prophets, that the tree of knowledge Good and Evil is an apple tree; they teach that the fruit which Adam and Eve ate was an apple. This is the beginning of their false doctrine, and if you follow this line of reasoning through, then what kind of tree is the Tree of Life, which was also in the midst of the garden?
Do you know that the so-called “Shepherds/Preachers” of today have even lied about man’s creation? When the Lord created Adam He breathed into his nostrils and Adam became a living soul. Here the Lord is speaking clearly and not in a parable as when He was speaking of the “trees in the midst of the garden”.
But the “Preachers” of today teach that man is created with a body, soul and spirit. It is evident that they do not understand the word “became” a living soul when the breath of Life was breathed into his nostrils. They certainly do not understand that before God breathed into Adam’s nostrils, he was a dead soul. If they do not understand that Adam was made a living soul; 1 Corinthians 15:45, then they can not understand the parable in the third chapter of Genesis.
Turn to Genesis 3:1, we read where the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field, which the Lord God made. Now, I ask, when was the last time you heard a snake talk? This most certainly must be a parable. So what we have to do is search the scriptures to find out who this serpent is.
Turn to Revelation 12:7-9, where you read that there was a war in heaven: Michael and His angels fought against the dragon and his angels, and prevailed not, and the dragon was cast out, that old serpent called the Devil and Satan was cast out of heaven with his angels into the Earth. What is he called in verse :9 The Great Dragon, Serpent, Devil and Satan. Now, we know that the serpent talking to the woman is none other than Satan the Devil. Before he was cast out of heaven, he was one of the morning stars that was there when the Lord laid the foundations of the Earth, Job 38:3-7, when all the stars (Angels) sang together for there was only joy in heaven among the sons of God. There was no sin among the angels as they created the creation as they were commanded; Psalms 104:4, 30.
They were perfect in the day that they were created, but then iniquity was found in one of the anointed cherubs; Ezekiel 28:14-15. We see in Isaiah 14:12-14, that the anointed cherub which was cast out was called Lucifer, Son of the Morning. He was one of the “morning stars”, until he desired to be like the Most High, to reign over the Stars of God (Angels) in heaven and sit in Jerusalem on Earth; Psalms 48:2.
Now, we know the iniquity that was in the Devil is that he Wants to be like the Most High God; Ezekiel 28:1-3, 11-16, we also know that the Serpent in the Garden is an angel whose name used to Lucifer, but now is called the Great Dragon, The Devil and Satan.
Let’s turn back to Genesis 3:2-3, here we see the woman telling the Serpent (Satan) that they may eat of the fruit of the trees of the Garden: but the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the Garden, God hath said , “You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it.” So, what is this tree that you shall not touch, let alone eat the fruit of? It has been said that the fruit that they ate was an apple. So the tree in the midst of the garden must be an apple tree.
Let us take a look at this tree, turn to Ezekiel 31:1-18, here we read that the Word of the Lord came to Ezekiel telling him to speak unto Pharaoh, King of Egypt. This Pharaoh is described as a tree and was in the garden of God; Ezekiel 31:8, and all the trees in the Garden envied him; Ezekiel 31:9. This tree that is called Pharaoh made nations shake at the sound of his fall, :16, was in the Garden of God. So this King of Egypt is no ordinary man.
Turn to Daniel 10:10-13, here we read that the Angel Gabriel was sent to Daniel to show him the meaning of a vision, but was held up for three weeks by the Prince of the Kingdom of Persia: But, lo, Michael, one of the Chief Princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the Kings of Persia.
Now, how can an ordinary man hold the Angel, Gabriel, prisoner for three weeks and have to receive help from Michael the Archangel; Michael the Angel that fought in the war in heaven; Revelation 12:7-9, and cast the Dragon, (Lucifer) and his angels out.
In Ezekiel 28:1-3, we read the Word of the Lord came to Ezekiel telling him about the Prince of Tyrus; how the Prince of Tyrus said he was a god and sits in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas, yet thou art a man and not God. Is this really a man? This man is “wiser than Daniel and there is no secret that they can hide from thee”, :3.
Skip down to verses, :12-16, here we read that the King of Tyrus was perfect in beauty and full of wisdom, :12. Now what man do you know that was perfect in beauty? This King of Tyrus was in the Garden of Eden. Think about what you have just read. How can this be since Adam and Eve were the only ones in the Garden of Eden? They did not have their first child till after they were driven out from the Garden of Eden, Genesis 3:23-24, Genesis 4:1.
So who is this King of Tyrus which was in the Garden of Eden? Ezekiel 28:13 tells us that this man was created. Now, think for a moment how many men have been created? Just one, Adam, all the rest came from woman, they were born; even Eve you might say was born because she came out of Adam.
Let’s continue reading, verse :14 tells us that the King of Tyrus is the Anointed Cherub that covereth and he was upon the Holy Mountain of God, simply put, he was in God’s government. He was perfect in the day that he was created till iniquity was found in him, verse 15. He was cast out of the Mountain of God (Government), for his sin.
Now, we know that this tree in the garden is also called Pharaoh King of Egypt; Ezekiel 31:2, 8-9, 16-18 and in Ezekiel 28:1-3, 12-13, he is called Prince or King of Tyrus, in Daniel he is called the Prince or King of Persia. We will find out as we travel through the Holy Scriptures that the tree in the Garden of Eden has other titles and names that he is called by.
Turn back to Genesis 3:1 and let’s take a closer look at the serpent that is more cunning than any beast of the field. We know that this Serpent is not really a snake, so let’s see what he really looks like. Pastors of today portray him as a snake wrapped around an apple tree in the garden, a devil with a red suit; long tail; carrying a pitch fork and ruling over hell.
Let us detour for a moment and go read what the anointed cherub that covereth, whose name was Lucifer, looks like. In Ezekiel 1:3-11; Ezekiel 10:8-22; Revelation 4:6-8, we read that Cherubs have four faces, six wings with eyes all over, hands under their wings, and calves feet and sometimes are called beast instead of Angels; Genesis 3:1, Revelation 4:6-8. They are also called Stars; Job 38:6-7, Angels are also called men; Genesis 19:1-5, Daniel 9:21; they are also called Sons of God; Job 1:6-7, Job 2:1. In Isaiah 6:1-3, they are called Seraphims.
Now, we know what the Serpent (Satan) really looks like, we also found out that he walks up and down in the Earth. That should tell you something, snakes do not walk, and they don’t talk. Back to Genesis 2:16-17; we read that the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “of every tree of the Garden thou mayest freely eat. But of the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shall not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof, thou shall surely die”. We just read what the Lord God said, that disobedience brings death.
In Genesis 3:1-4, the Devil (Serpent) and the woman are having a conversation about what the Lord God had said to Adam in Genesis 2:16-17. Then the Serpent said to the woman, “You shall not surely die…”. Before we read any further, let’s look at Genesis 2:25; here we read that Adam and Eve were both naked and were not ashamed.
Back to Genesis 3:4-5. As we continue reading we hare the Devil telling the woman that when she eats the fruit from the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil, that their eyes would be opened and “Ye shall be as Gods, knowing good and evil. Wait a minute, did we just read the Devil (Serpent) told the woman a lie, that she would not die? I understand why the Lord called the Devil (Serpent) a liar and murderer in John 8:44, because he speaks of his own.
Let’s continue, in Genesis 3:6 the woman did eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and gave to her husband and he did eat. The thing that amazes me is that they already knew good and evil, they knew that if they ate the fruit from the Tree of knowledge of good and evil that they would die. This is an evil that would come upon all, Ecclesiastes 9:3, and if they did not eat from the Tree they would not die.
Once again, it has been said that the fruit was an apple. Well, let’s just find out what kind of fruit it was that they ate. In Hosea 10:13, we will read this one verse. The Lord said in, verse :13, we have eaten the fruit of lies, because we trust in our own way instead of trusting in the Lord.
Back to Genesis 3:7, after they ate the fruit their eyes were opened and they knew that they were naked they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves aprons. Then they heard the Lord walking in the Garden and they hid themselves from Him, :8-11. Remember that we read in Genesis 2:25, that they were naked and not ashamed. But now we see them covering themselves and hiding from the Lord when He came into the Garden. When the Lord called to Adam, saying, “Where art thou?”, Adam told Him that he had hidden himself because, “I heard your voice in the Garden and I was afraid because I was naked”.
Pay close attention to what the Lord asked Adam; :11, the Lord said, “Who told you that you were naked? Someone told them that they were naked—Satan. The Lord asked, “Hast thou eaten of the Tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat of?”
Now we know that the fruit that they ate from the tree—which was Satan—were the words (lies) that he spoke to them. He told them about being naked. He also told them they would be like God if they listened to him. They ate his words. That is the fruit of lies that they ate.
In John 8:44 we read where Jesus is talking about the Devil. He was a murderer and liar from the beginning, because he killed the whole human race by telling the woman a lie, saying, if she listened to him they would not die, Genesis 3:4, but be as God knowing good and evil; 3:5.
So you see the Devil did as he has always done, he gave them a little bit of truth and a great big lie, to make it desirable; Genesis 3:6. The part truth is they would be as God knowing good and evil. When we turn to Genesis 3:21-22 we read that after Adam and his wife knew they were naked and were ashamed, the Lord made coats of skins, and clothed them.
Now, my question is, where did these coats of skin come from? When Adam and his wife disobeyed (sinned) death came into play; some animal had to die, so that they would have coats of skin to wear. Genesis 3:22, the Lord said behold the man is become as one of us to know good and evil. Is this not what the Serpent told the woman in Genesis 3:5? So, the Lord drove man out of the Garden, so that he could not eat from the Tree of Life, which is the Lord; Genesis 3:23-24. You cannot drink of the cup of the Lord and the cup of Devils; you cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table and of the table of Devils. If man had eaten from the Tree of Life he would have learned how to live forever. So the Lord drove the man out and place Cherubims to keep (guard) the way of the Tree of Life (the Lord). So now, I ask do you know what the Tree of Life and its fruit is?
After a careful reading of the third chapter of Genesis we now know by going to other Scriptures, that the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and its fruit is none other than the Devil and the words (lies) that he spoke and the different names that he is called by.
